There are blues and there are blues…

DSCN0448

This is Scotland. There are blues, there are the blues and then there are the blooms – the turquoise algal blooms.

Apparently, it’s phytoplankton. Quite toxic to some marine life, but seductive to the eye, giving our seas a tropical glow!

These blues have been building for weeks now and seem to become more intense with every day. There is something surreal about it and the eyes are constantly drawn to the water, as the greeny blues shift and play in their luminescent dance.
