Since the start of the year, the North-West has been battered by storm after storm, after storm – an unrelenting onslaught of wind and water, with barely a day’s respite. March came in like a lion, as the saying goes and as the pummeling continued.
A few days ago, something finally shifted.
Our resident winged friends are loving the warmth of the sun and spend half the day just sitting, preening.
Looking out, below, across the dunes to the Trotternish ridge on Skye, which still retains some snow – but for how much longer? Mind you, this first real taste of spring won’t last, so we’re savouring every second of it!
